Yerevan Jewelry Plant  was established in December 1950. It was the first in the region to receive the name “Jewelry Plant”.In 1998 medal production started at the Plant. By its high quality it meets the international standards. At present more than 500 types of memory medals, souvenirs, orders, badges, corporate medals are produced at the Plant.In 2001 at the Plant assimilated the production of «Gnomon»  watches. Name «Gnomon» by its historical origin means sun dial which indicated time by the shadow of the bar in the centre of the dial. For «Gnomon»  watches  ETA, RONDA (Switzerland), CITIZEN (Japan), CHAYKA, POLJOT(Russia) movements are used. The watches are of high class and quality and by numerous certificates «Gnomon» was acknowledged as a trade mark in many countries abroad.In 2005 the Plant was renamed Yerevan Jewelry Plant-1 «Gnomon» OJSC.From 2010 on the Plant produces gold replicas of the best samples of medieval Armenian miniatures.In 2013 the exclusive collection of the Plant was replenished with a unique item-replica of Grigor Tatevatsi’s Gospel with gold and silver cover. The Gospel itself is a masterpiece of Armenian goldsmith art and is kept in the Treasury of Holy Echmiatsin Cathedral. It was the idea of Supreme Patriarch Garegin II to make the replica of the Gospel.2015 was a remarkable year for the Plant -for the first time it participated to the famous internaional “World Money Fair 2015” from 30/01 till 02/02 in Berlin, where the best coin producers and numismatists of the worls gathered.In 2017 a long-expected brand shop “Emil Grigorian” was opened.
