Location
Jermuk is one of the most famous resort city of Armenia. It is located in the north-eastern part of Vayots Dzor region, at an altitude of about 2050 meters above sea level, in the upper reaches of the Arpa River. Flowing through the city, the latter divided it into two parts. The resort is surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges covered with dense forests.
Climate
Jermuk is known for its mild climate. It is not so hot in summer, but calm and full of snow in winter. Air temperature does not exceed + 32С, and in winter it reaches only -35С.
Mineral water
Jermuk is rich in unique sources of fresh and mineral water. Among them, warm mineral springs should be noted, which in their physicochemical characteristics are on a par with similar sources in Karlovy Vary and Zheleznovodsk. This underground geyser water is used for both drinking and bathing. It is useful for the treatment of various diseases, including the gastrointestinal tract, nephritis and neurological disorders.
